Dear,
we are pleased to invite you to Ravenna on June 5-6, 2025 for the second edition of the “Plastics & Environment” Workshop. Once again this year, the goal is to foster a constructive dialogue between the scientific community and industry on the sustainable management of plastics through a discussion of applicable research, technologies and strategies.

The central themes of the Workshop:

Environmental Monitoring
Innovative analytical techniques for the detection of microplastics, nanoplastics and additives in matrices such as soil, air, water and biota, including extreme environments.

Impact on health and ecosystems
Recent studies on the effects of microplastics, nanoplastics and additives on humans and terrestrial and aquatic organisms, with a focus on toxicological and ecotoxicological assessments.

Microorganism-plastic interactions
From biopolymer synthesis to biodegradation: opportunities and critical issues related to the role of microorganisms.

Innovation in recovery and recycling
Alternative materials, advanced recycling technologies and best practices to reduce environmental impact.

Sustainability and circularity
Life cycle analysis (LCA), circular economy models and criteria for sustainable management of plastics.
