The SARS-CoV-2 virus: from biology to therapies

The SARS-CoV-2 virus: from biology to therapies

Coronavirus, the RAI special with talks by FISV experts

In this period of the coronavirus epidemic, we are inundated with admittedly very fragmentary information about the etiologic agent of the disease, its origins, its way of infecting cells and replicating, the immune response, as well as the importance of genetic predisposition, age and lifestyle in the evolution of the disease, and finally about possible therapies. This information is not always characterized by scientific rigor and clarity for the audience. In this series of short videos, experts from several of the 16 scientific societies participating in the Italian Life Sciences Federation explain in a clear manner and following an integrated pathway numerous aspects in order to give a comprehensive and scientifically rigorous picture, favoring easy usability for the general public.

Member Prof. Raffaele De Francesco contributed to the event for SIMGBM by covering the topic “How the virus is made and how it multiplies.”
