Scientific Programme and Poster

The Congress will offer 4 Plenary Lectures, 6 Plenary Sessions and 3 Parallel Sessions for oral presentations selected among poster contributions.

Venues

The Opening Lecture, the first Plenary Session and the Welcome Cocktail will take place on September 17 at the Rectorate of The University Roma Tre (Viale Ostiense 133) .

 

The SIMGBM Congress will continue at the Department of Law, Roma Tre University, from September 18 to 20 (Viale Ostiense 159, 260 meters from the Rectorate).

How to get there

From Fiumicino “Leonardo da Vinci” airport:
You can take the "Leonardo Express" direct train from Fiumicino Airport to Termini Station. The train takes 32 minutes and runs every 30 minutes (from 6:23 to 23:23). One-way tickets cost: 14 EUR (purchasable at automatic machines or ticket offices at Fiumicino Airport and Termini Station). Then you take the underground from Termini train station

From Termini train station:
You can the underground Line B to:
Garbatella (5 stops) which is at 13 minutes walking distance from the Venues Map
Basilica San Paolo (6 stops) which is at 13 minutes walking distance from the Venues Map

From Ciampino airport:
You can get the coach TERRAVISION SHUTTLE from Roma Ciampino Airport to Roma Termini Railway Station (and back). One-way ticket: 5.00 EUR. Tickets can also be purchased from booths at Ciampino airport (opposite the arrivals hall). For timetable and further informations go to http://www.terravision.eu.
Then you take the underground from Termini train station

You can take the bus to the Anagnina underground Station (terminal station of the underground). The bus runs every 30 minutes until 22:40. Route time: 5 minutes. Ticket: 1.50 EUR. From there, take the underground (Line A) towards "Battistini/Termini" and get off at Termini.

You can take the bus 720 to Laurentina. Then you walk 3 minutes and take the underground (Line B) to Basilica San Paolo. Ticket: 1.50 EUR Map

Late Registrations and fees:

*Senior participant: older than 31 (unless student); Junior participant: younger than 31 (see also below).

Important notes:

To benefit from the SIMGBM member reduced fee, membership payments must have been paid regularly including 2025.

Junior Participants include all type of students (BSc, Master, Specialization, PhD students) or any other participant younger than 31. Students older than 31 must submit an official studentship certification.

Registration will be considered complete only after payment is cleared in the SIMGBM bank account (please, make sure to take care of the payment with greater advance if the bank transfer is handled by a University or Society administration).

After August 22, registrations will only be possible on-site

In the description of payment, indicate surname and name of participant/s followed by Microbiology 2025 (e.g. Bianchi Maria e Rossi Antonio - Microbiology 2023). Payments without specifications cannot be taken into consideration.

Receipt will be sent by email after payment is cleared (within two weeks)

On-site registrations must be paid by cash or check.

Registration fees are not refundable

The registration fee includes free entry to all scientific sessions and poster viewing, coffee breaks, lunches, welcome cocktail and the congress kit.

Certificate of attendance will be sent by email after the Congress.

Abstracts

Abstracts are accepted exclusively during online registration. Submitted abstracts will not be considered if the corresponding registration payments are not received within June 30.

The abstract should be submitted by the presenting author only. The abstract text must be no longer than 250 words. In the registration form you will find details for abstract editing.

During the submission procedure, the presenting Author must choose between oral and poster presentation and indicate a specific session (A, B, C):
A: Microbial genetics and genomics
B: Environmental and industrial microbiology
C: Interactions between microbes/viruses and their hosts

The Scientific Committee will review all abstracts proposed for oral presentations. Participants selected for oral presentation will be notified in due advance. Non-selected abstracts will be presented as a poster. Abstracts selected for oral presentation can be presented also as a poster.

Posters

Poster size is 70 x 100 cm (width x height). Poster number will be indicated in the Abstract Book. Further details on poster sessions will be available before the Congress.

Welcome Cocktail

A Welcome Cocktail will be offered to all participants on September 17, at 19.30, on the terrace of the Rectorate of the University Roma Tre.
Participants are kindly requested to indicate if they will attend the welcome cocktail upon online registration to the Congress.

Social Dinner

Social Dinner will take place on September 20.
