How to get the city centre form "Falcone - Borsellino" airport (35 km)

By taxi which costs approx. € 45.

By bus. Another comfortable and cheaper option is the bus of the Company "Prestia & Comandè". There is a bus every 30 minutes and it takes 50 minutes to cover the distance between the airport and the main railway station of Palermo (Stazione centrale). A bus stop is located in Piazza Giulio Cesare in front of the train station. There are several stops before arriving at the station and the stop Politeama is conveniently located to get the hotels in the north of Palermo’s city centre.
At the airport, tickets must be bought at the desk Prestia & Comandè, situated in the arrival hall from 7.30 to 22.30 and on the bus from 22.30 to 00.30.
Ticket cost: € 6.30 for a single trip and € 11.00 for a return ticket.

How to reach Palazzo Steri (September 17)

Palazzo Steri (Piazza Marina 61) is located in the main center of Palermo (see “Venues Map”). There are no city buses which take exactly there. You can reach this venue on foot, by taxi or you can take the Free Shuttle (see indications in the following page).

How to reach Polo Didattico (September 18-20)

The Polo Didattico, also known as “Edificio 19” is located within the University campus (see “Venues Map” and “University Campus Map”).

 

From Palermo Main Station (Piazza Giulio Cesare)
On foot. It takes approximately 30 minutes to reach the venue (about 1.2 Km). Take Corso Tukory, continue straight on Via Basile and then go in Viale delle Scienze within the University campus. Follow the main path and the second big building on the left is the Edificio 19. To reach the Congress Hall which is on the first floor you must come in through entrance F (with stairs) or entrance G (with elevator).

By bus. It takes approximately 20 minutes to reach the venue. Take either the bus line 109 or 234 and get off at “Basile Facoltà di Ingegneria” bus stop. This bus stop is just a few minutes far from the conference venue. Enter the campus and, on the left, there is a big building: that is the Edificio 19. To reach the Congress Hall which is on the first floor you must come in through entrance F (with stairs) or entrance G (with elevator).

By metro. It takes approximately 10 minutes to reach the venue. You have to stop at Palazzo Reale Orleans. Get out on Via Ernesto Basile and turn right, go straight for about 50 meters and enter the campus. Follow the main path and the second big building on the left is the Edificio 19. To reach the Congress Hall which is on the first floor you must come in through entrance F (with stairs) or entrance G (with elevator).

 

From Piazza Politeama
On foot. It takes approximately 50 minutes to reach the venue. Follow the main road Via Ruggiero Settimo and turn right at Via Vittorio Emanuele II. Once you have reached a large square (beyond the Cathedral) which is Piazza Indipendenza, turn left and go straight to the city park Parco D’Orleans. Follow its wall and at the corner, on the right, you will see the University of Palermo entrance. Follow the main path and the second big building on the left is the Edificio 19. To reach the Congress Hall which is on the first floor you must come in through entrance F (with stairs) or entrance G (with elevator).

By bus. It takes approximately 25-30 minutes to reach the venue. Take either the bus line 104 or 108 and stop at “Basile Facoltà di Ingegneria” bus stop. This bus stop is just a few minutes far from the conference venue. Enter the campus and, on the left, there is a big building: that is the Edificio 19. To reach the Congress Hall which is on the first floor you must come in through entrance F (with stairs) or entrance G (with elevator).

 

How to reach venues by Free Shuttle

You can take the Free Shuttle called "Free Centro Storico". The Shuttle leaves from Piazzetta Santo Spirito, passes through the city centre and returns at the starting point. You can get off at Piazza Marina (stop 29), or in Via Alloro (stop 4) to get Palazzo Steri. Similarly, you can get off at Piazza Indipendenza (stop 20) or corso Tukory (stop 17) to get the Polo Didattico (reach the metro stop Palazzo Reale Orleans, and follow the same indications as detailed in previous paragraphs). Bus stops are detailed on the map “Free Shuttle Map”. Take into account that the itinerary of this shuttle is only in one direction. Last departure: h. 21.00.
